Batton Acree was a student at Colorado Mesa University who studied Biology (Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology specialization. He had already graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Being from Grand Junction and wanting to do research while he went for his second bachelor’s degree, he decided to join LEoPARD at CMU. After graduating from CMU, he hoped to attend graduate school in biochemistry. While also attending school Batton was a wildland firefighter, fighting fires across Mesa County during the summer and part of the school year. Batton likes to spend his free time hiking 14ers and traveling to national parks.
