Andrew Murphy is a Biology graduate from Ursinus College. Originally from West Chester, Pennsylvania, he began his undergraduate studies at Ursinus in Fall 2014. During his time with the Dieni Research group, his project was to investigate the impact of carbon nanotube interactions with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH).

Andrew was a strong student who earned a place on the Dean’s List each semester at Ursinus. He was awarded both Merit and Legacy Scholarships, and was a member of the National Biological Honor Society (Beta Beta Beta). In addition to his studies, he was extensively involved in extracurricular activities; he was a junior fellow with the Parlee Center for Science and the Common Good, and worked with Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (S.T.A.T.), Wismer on Wheels, and Best Buddies.

Earlier on in his studies, Andrew conducted marine biology research in the Bahamas. When not studying, doing research, or partaking in his multitude of extracurriculars, he was also a lifeguard.
