Chris has been nominated for a 2016 Capital Educators’ Award, an award that recognizes excellence in teaching, across the entire educational spectrum from elementary to post-secondary, within Canada’s National Capital Region. The nomination was confirmed today by a letter from Dr. Joy Mighty, Associate Vice-President (Teaching and Learning) at Carleton University.
Chris’ nominators for the 2016 Capital Educators’ Awards were Anna Koudrina, a Carleton alumna (Hons BSc Biochem & Biotech 2016) who Chris taught in the Fall 2014 edition of Biophysical Techniques and Applications (BIOC 3202), and Timothy Mark Garant, presently an Hons BSc 3rd-year student in Biochemistry & Biotechnology, who Chris taught in the Fall 2015 edition of BIOC 3202. Their letters, alongside letters from nominators for other past awards, can be found in Chris’ teaching portfolio.
Finalists, who are invited to attend the awards gala- or EduGala- will be announced on April 8th.

Update #1: On March 30th, Chris was informed by the Office of the Provost and Vice-President (Academic) that he is one of six finalists selected to represent Carleton at EduGala.
Update #2: On May 19th, Chris was named one of 18 winners of the 2016 Capital Educators’ Awards at Edugala. He was one of three winners from Carleton University.
